Heritage and Opulence Converge as Robb Report India and the Scindia Family Unveil 'Palace Prive' at Jai Vilas Palace
Robb Report India and the royal family of Gwalior, Priyadarshini Raje Scindia and Mahanaaryaman Scindia, hosted the exclusive Palace Prive at Jai Vilas Palace on April 8-9, 2026. This immersive #RRExperience celebrated Madhya Pradesh’s heritage through royal culinary traditions, artisanal crafts like Chanderi weaving, and a distinguished guest list including Dia Mirza and Aditi Rao Hydari.
The soiree was fortified by a roster of prestigious partners, including Macallan as the experience partner, Bentley as the automotive partner, Vedica as the hydration partner, Matsya as the lifestyle partner, and PC Totuka as the fine jewellery partner. This curated itinerary, personally designed by Priyadarshini Raje Scindia and the palace concierge, offered an intimate window into a region defined by its historical significance. Built in 1874 by Maharaja Jayajirao Scindia, Jai Vilas Palace acted as both the setting and the storyteller, utilizing its world-renowned Durbar Hall and European-Maratha architectural influences to bridge the divide between historical preservation and contemporary luxury.
Avarna Jain, Chairperson of RPSG Lifestyle Media, underscored the significance of the event, stating that Palace Prive represents the essence of Robb Report India by providing access to the exceptional through a collaboration deeply rooted in heritage yet contemporary in expression. The first day of the event featured a grand tour of the Durbar Hall and a soulful performance by Nayab Midha, culminating in an intimate dining experience from the royal kitchen. This meal featured a curated menu inspired by recipes passed down through generations, directly reflecting the culinary traditions of the Scindia family.
Priyadarshini Raje Scindia noted that the experiences created around Gwalior and Jai Vilas Palace are rooted in personal memories and time spent with her children, describing the event as an opening of their home to share those memories with guests. On the morning of April 9, the Crafters’ Brunch extended the narrative to local artisanal traditions, inviting lac bangle makers, chanderi weavers, and carpet artisans to present their craft. This session allowed guests to touch, feel, and engage with the local practices, fostering a deeper understanding of what art and craft mean to the region.
The guest list featured distinguished tastemakers from the spheres of film, food, design, and culture, including actor and philanthropist Dia Mirza with husband Vaibhav Rekhi, actor Aditi Rao Hydari with husband Siddharth, designers Raghavendra Rathore and Kavita Rathore, entrepreneur Devyani Jaipuria, and hotelier Yeshwant Holkar. Aindrila Mitra, Editor of Robb Report India, emphasised that the #RRExperience itineraries, ranging from 12 to 36 hours, prioritize intentional storytelling over excess. By centering craftsmanship and authenticity, Palace Prive successfully unveiled the richness of Gwalior and Madhya Pradesh, reinforcing Robb Report India’s commitment to curating meaningful, person-forward luxury experiences within the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group’s expanding media portfolio.
